NMN (Nicotinamide Mononucleotide)
Also known as: NMN, nicotinamide mononucleotide, β-NMN
Recommended Dosage
250–500 mg
Nicotinamide Mononucleotide (NMN) is a direct precursor to NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide), a coenzyme essential for cellular energy production, DNA repair, and sirtuin activation. NAD+ levels decline significantly with age, and this decline is implicated in many aspects of aging. While animal studies have shown remarkable anti-aging effects, human evidence is still building. NMN has become one of the most discussed longevity supplements.
TL;DR: NAD+ precursor with multiple human RCTs showing elevated blood NAD+ and improved physical performance. Exciting longevity candidate.
Evidence Rating: Grade B — Moderate Evidence
Some RCTs with positive results, or strong observational evidence. More research may refine our understanding.
Interaction Warnings
NAD+ boosting may theoretically support cancer cell survival — consult oncologist
⚠️ Important Notes
- Rapidly evolving research field
- Long-term safety beyond 12 months not fully established
- Often combined with TMG for methylation support
